AFTERPOST 2001

Second chapter of the Cosmic Trilogy; this album was made during BIOnighT's worst period, a period during which we were constantly on the verge of splitting. This is certainly our darkest work, but we do think it is worth listening and that the title track - Afterpost - is one of our most intense pieces so far.

1) AFTERPOST - min. 7.14
There are periods - sometimes brief, sometimes painfully long - when you have no control over the events happening in your life. You feel trapped and unjustly punished. You try to fight back, to defend yourself, but at one point all you can do is just sit on the floor - numb, drained of all your will and energy - and watch things happen all around you as if you were sitting in the eye of some wicked hurricane, waiting for the storm to pass...
2) SATURDAYDOWN - min. 9.01
Sometimes you're just having one of those days, and nothing seems to go in the right direction; all your thoughts are gloomy, and you feel nervous and sad with no apparent reason. Fortunately, that normally lasts only one day... This is the track that was left out from the original release of this album; somehow it had come to represent all of our disagreements and wound up being used as a scapegoat. When we listened to it for the first time in almost a year and without the negative emotional involvement, we realized that it was pretty good indeed and gave it the space it deserved.
3) SNOWY PARK - min. 4.24
Night. Winter. A park, within a big city. A small river runs through it. Bridges crossing the water. The dim light of streetlamps, snowflakes falling, all is white, covered with snow. Trees, benches, statues, and a man, walking slowly, and thinking.
4) MOTHERWATER - min. 7.03
The genesis of life in the primeval oceans.
5) EVOLUTION DAWN - min. 8.51
It's the dawn of evolution on planet Earth. From the smallest organism evolution will create reptiles, and mammals, and all the other species that will inhabit the planet. Is Man the final stage? Or will he eventually disappear, too, to leave room for yet another species that will dominate the Earth?
Further notes...

In spite of our relationship with this work that reminds us of that negative period in both our cooperation and friendship, this album almost always got good reviews as well as positive reactions from the listeners. I guess it's because there is some tension and some emotions that transpire from the music that somehow people perceive and react to... After all, what music is all about is emotions, isn't it?
